Manchester United captain Roy Keane has appeared in court today to deny charges relating to the alleged assault of a 16-year-old boy.
Keane was in a Manchester court to deny assaulting the youth,
causing criminal damage, and using threatening or abusive behaviour.
The United ace, who wore a grey suit with a blue shirt and blue tie, confirmed his name and address to the court before pleading not guilty to the three charges. The case was adjourned to a pre-trial review on October 21 and Keane was released on unconditional bail.
The 33-year-old is alleged to have clashed with a 16-year-old boy near his mansion in the wealthy Manchester suburb of Hale, on Saturday, September 4.
Keane was reportedly walking his Labrador dog close to Hale Golf Course when he got into a row with the teenager from Baguley, Manchester.
The criminal damage allegation against Keane apparently relates to the youngster's neck chain being broken during the incident.
