An injury-time penalty denied the Republic of Ireland Under-17 side a place in the final of the Toyota International Youth Championships today.
Ireland were the better side throughout with Keith Treacy and Alan Judge both having wonderful chances to put Ireland in front before Korea won a dubious penalty deep in injury-time which was converted.
Sean McCaffrey’s charges maintained long spells of pressure and substitute Karl Moore missed a one-on-one opportunity with the last kick of the game as Korea survived to book a place in the final against Holland.
"It was daylight robbery," said the outraged coach.
"We played very well and should have been in front but were robbed by a bad penalty decision."
Ireland now go on face Japan in the third place play-off in Toyota City Stadium on Sunday before finishing the Japanese tour with a friendly against Gifu High School next week.
Ireland is using the tour as preparation for the UEFA Under-17 Championship first phase qualifiers in October when they face Germany, Iceland and Lithuania in Germany.
