Republic of Ireland international Jason McAteer will not be joining Leicester after he failed to agree personal terms.
The 33-year-old midfielder, who was released by Sunderland at the end of last season, had arrived at the Walkers Stadium to finalise a one-year contract.
However manager Micky Adams told the club's official website this morning: "It is disappointing we have not been able to conclude a deal. Unfortunately, there was a last-minute hitch and sometimes these things happen in football."
