Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has once again moved to dismiss speculation claiming that he is on his way out of Old Trafford.
The Dutchman, a £19million buy from PSV Eindhoven three years ago, has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid. With the Steven Gerrard saga at an end, tabloid newspapers have again moved to claim that van Nistelrooy is on his way to Spain, but once more, the player has denied this.
Following his side's 2-1 Euro 2004 semi-final defeat at the hands of Portugal, the striker said: "Alex Ferguson is going to build his third top team and I want to be a part of that. We are building a new team, a team to win the Champions League."
"United have become my club. United are, for me, the only club, van Nistelrooy told the Daily Star. I am perfectly satisfied here and the club are satisfied with me. Why on earth would I leave?"
Meanwhile, the Dutch striker hit out at referee Anders Frisk following Holland's Euro 2004 exit. Van Nistelrooy claimed that Frisk helped the home nation and said: "It's unbelievable how the referee ruled everything in favour of Portugal. He was a real home whistler."
"Every 50-50 situation was for them but we cannot do anything about it." However, the striker also showed some humility and added: "I'm really down but maybe we have to say that Portugal just played better in this match. All of us gave everything for the fans over here and at home."
