Holland coach Dick Advocaat will be forced to make at least one alteration to his starting line-up for tomorrow's Euro 2004 semi-final against Portugal.
Veteran defender Frank de Boer has been ruled out for the clash in Lisbon after medical tests confirmed that he sustained an ankle ligament injury during his side's quarter-final triumph over Sweden.
Wilfred Bouma is set to partner Jaap Stam in central defence as he returns to the starting line-up having fully recovered from an Achilles injury.
Defenders Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Stam failed to finish Monday's training session with minor problems, but their conditions are no cause for concern for Advocaat and both players will be available for selection.
Meanwhile, Portugal striker Nuno Gomes and centre-back Jorge Andrade have been passed fit to face Holland in tomorrow's Euro 2004 semi-final in Lisbon.
The duo sustained ankle injuries during their side's quarter-final victory against England but were both in full training today. Boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is expected to keep faith with the starting line-up that beat England, although Pauleta has been pushing for a recall at the expense of Nuno Gomes.
