Ex Shelbourne and Ireland under-21 star Richie Baker recorded his first Major League Soccer 'point' when he provided the cross for Clint Dempsey to score for New England Revolution against the Kansas City Wizard at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough Massachusets last night. The point is awarded for providing an 'assist' pass to a goalscorer. Kansas fought back however, and won the tie 3-1. Baker, who came on as a 30th minute substitute for Brian Kamler, joined Revolution at the end of the 2003 eircom League season.
Last night's appearance was his seventh of the campaign for Revolution, who are managed by former Liverpool and Scotland player Steve Nicol.
