Shels came from 2-0 down to salvage a draw at United Park to go six points clear at the top of the eircom League Premier Division table. Gavin Whelan’s speculative 19th minute shot deflected off Thomas Morgan and spun past the despairing dive of Steve Williams and into the corner of the net to give Drogheda the lead.

Andy Myler made it 2-0 on 48 minutes after a brilliant move involving skipper Danny O’Connor and Declan O’Brien.

Glen Fitzpatrick began Shels' recovery with a back post volley on 64 minutes.

David Crawley then also provided the cross for substitute Jamie Harris to score with a looping header to earn the point seven minutes from time.
