French striker Louis Saha has slammed the Portuguese management for ignoring former Fulham team-mate Luis Boa Morte in the build up to Euro 2004.
Boa Morte has just enjoyed his best season of football in the Premiership, but was unable to force his way into the Portugal squad.
Saha launched a scathing attack on Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and said: "It's revolting and scandalous that a player with such natural ability has been excluded. I learned a lot from him."
"If I was in his place I would never play for the national team again. It's incredible. I spoke to him and I know he was sad," the Manchester United player added.
However Saha also paid tribute to his Old Trafford team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo and claimed that the young winner can make a big impact in the tournament with Portugal.
"He is a phenomenon, an unbelievable talent, and one of those players show just needs a little fine tuning and then should be left in peace to do what he wants," he said.
