Advocaat rules Seedorf out of opener

Holland coach Dick Advocaat has ruled Clarence Seedorf out of their opening match against Germany. A follow-up examination of his hamstring injury has revealed that Seedorf has not torn the muscle but the tendon is strained, and he is almost certain to miss the clash on June 15 in Porto.

"I am sure that I cannot use him for at least a week," Advocaat told De Volksrant newspaper.

However, Seedorf should be available to take part in Holland's final two Group D games against Latvia and the Czech Republic.
