Swiss striker misses out with broken leg

Swiss international striker Marco Streller has been ruled out of Euro 2004 after breaking a leg in training.

The 22-year-old Streller, who plays for Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart, picked up the injury during a clash with Swiss team-mate Marco Zwyssig.

The injury is a major blow for the Swiss who open their European championship campaign against Croatia on June 13.

Despite his lack of senior experience, Streller was one of the few up-and-coming players to be named in the Swiss squad.
