A George O’Callaghan winner moved Cork up to third in the eircom Premier League table overnight as the Vikings were left to rue missed chances.
Cork only really threatened from set-pieces and, having hit a post through Danny Murphy on 21 minutes, struck for their winner four minutes before the break. Neale Fenn’s thumping free-kick came down off the bar and O’Callaghan was first
to react to volley home the loose ball.
Vikings' best chance fell to Cathal O’Connor on 62 minutes but his weak shot was easily held by Michael Devine.
