Clinton Morrisson: Mikael Forssell thinks the Irish international is 'excellent'

Mikael Forssell has praised the contribution of Clinton Morrison to his successful first season at Birmingham.

On-loan Chelsea striker Forssell has attracted most of the headlines after scoring 19 times this term.

Morrison, in contrast, will go into Saturday's home game with Liverpool having managed to find the net only three times in the Premiership.

His place could come under threat if manager Steve Bruce is successful in his attempt to bring in Liverpool's Emile Heskey this summer.

But Forssell, whose loan has been extended for a further 12 months, knows how much he owes the Republic of Ireland international in terms of his own success. Forssell said: "Clinton has been excellent and part of my goals tally is definitely because of him. The way he works the channels, makes runs, makes space and gives me passes has been very good. He is an excellent player."
