Aston Villa's new chief executive Bruce Langham has spelt out his
determination to keep leading scorer Juan Pablo Angel at the club. Langham is due to have talks in the near future with Villa manager David O'Leary to discuss his transfer plans for this summer.
But the former Fulham supremo also knows the importance of tying up the services of Angel as O'Leary wants the player to sign a new contract. The Colombian international, on target 21 times already this season, has only 14 months to run of his current deal.
Langham said: "I need to sit down and talk to David O'Leary about these sorts of things but certainly, from an outsider's point of view, he (Angel) is one exciting player that we want to keep."
