Savage praise for misfiring Morrison

Robbie Savage has heaped praise on Clinton Morrison claiming he is currently Birmingham's most important player. Morrison has forged an impressive partnership with 14-goal leading marksman Mikael Forssell in helping Birmingham push for a European place.

But the Republic of Ireland international has failed to hit the target in 10 starts since the FA Cup triumph over Blackburn in early January. And Morrison admits his scoreless run is bugging him but Savage believes it is only a matter of time before he finds the net.

Savage said: "Clinton is getting this thing into his head about not having scored - but the way he is playing, the goals will come. The Birmingham fans are behind him because they appreciate he is working his socks off and is such a good asset. We play the ball down the sides a lot and he is key to that working. At the moment he's our most important player."
