Ireland to face Romania in friendly clash

The FAI has announced that Ireland will take on Romania in a third friendly as part of their build up to the World Cup 2006 qualifiers.

Having already announced high-profiles games against Brazil and the Czech Republic, Ireland will now also face Romania in Lansdowne Road on May 27. Tickets for the three friendlies will be sold as a package, for the three matches, with prices for adults tickets ranging from €60 to €120. Ireland will play Brazil on February 18, while they take on the Czech Republic on March 31.

FAI CEO Fran Rooney explained the decision behind the ticketing scheme and said: "We've put a package together to provide exceptional value for supporters and pack the stadium. We've been looking at ways of marketing our game in a more attractive way and this package is indicative of the type of value we can offer our supporters"

He continued "We are delighted to bring the best possible opposition to Dublin for the squad and the fans. It is hugely important that we provide our senior team with the right type of fixtures in preparation for the World Cup 2006 qualifiers and equally that we provide our supporters with the most attractive games available at great value."
