Owen indicates he'll stay at Anfield

Michael Owen has suggested everything is in place for him to sign a new contract at Liverpool.

The England striker's agent claimed this week that Owen was prepared to quit Anfield if Liverpool failed to qualify for the Champions League for the second year running.

But Owen, who missed a howler in his return from injury yesterday, distanced himself from those comments, saying: "I have seen a lot written and said about the contract recently ... but I like the lads here and I like the management staff so everything is in place for me to stay."
