Under 19 side meet France in Alencon

Republic of Ireland Under 19 manager Sean McCaffrey will use tomorrow's friendly international against France in Alencon as a chance to experiment ahead of next year's European Championship qualifiers.

Ireland comfortably qualified for the second phase of the qualifiers by topping the first phase group ahead of Bulgaria, Lithuania and San Marino.

McCaffrey says the match will give him a chance to look at several players in what he expects to be a tough match.

He said: "We will use the game to experiment. We've 18 players here and all will play and not just getting on for the last few minutes as a token gesture, they will get plenty of time to show what they can do".

Midfielder Gary Liddle (Middlesbrough), midfielder Paul Murphy (Manchester City) and striker Aidan McGeady (Celtic) are all new recruits to McCaffrey's squad having impressed in the Under 18s earlier this year while Coventry City winger Huissein Yazdani is included having been left out of the squad for the first phase qualifiers.

He added: "The squad has been disrupted somewhat by players not being available like Willo (Flood) who is with the Under 20s in the United Arab Emirates though we still have plenty of experience with players like Mark Yeates and Mark Quigley being here. There are also a few players in the squad who I've not worked with before and it's a good chance to see how they do against top quality opposition." Kick off is at 2.00pm Irish time tomorrow.

Irish squad: Paul Murphy (Leicester City), Colin Doyle (Birmingham City), Christopher Deans (Derby County), Stephen O'Mahony (Limerick City), Patrick Flynn (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Paul McShane (Manchester United), Henry McStay (Leeds United), Gary Liddle (Middlesboro), Alan O'Brien (Newcastle United), Hussein Yazdani (Coventry City), Stephen O'Leary (Luton Town), Patrick Cregg (Arsenal), Paul Murphy (Manchester City), Mark Yeates (Tottenham Hotspur), Aidan McGeady (Celtic), Mark Quigley (Millwall), Gary Mulligan (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Karl Bermingham.
