Bray Wanderers stay in touch with First Division leaders

An injury-time equaliser from Bray Wanderers veteran Kieran 'Tarzan' O'Brien was enough to steal a 3-3 draw away to Galway United last night. The draw consolidated their position in third, five points behind eircom League First Division leaders Dublin City, with a game in hand on their leading rivals. The Vikings drew 0-0 with ninth-placed Cobh Ramblers at Whitehall. There is just one point separating the top two.

Elsewhere, fourth placed Kildare County maintained the two-point gap between themselves and Bray with the night's second 0-0 stalemate against Sligo Rovers at Station Road.

The only goals of the night came from Bray's trip to Galway, as first half goals from Mark Herrick and Barry Moran looked to have given them the full points. Striker Moran netted his sixth of the season on 52 minutes to cancel out Eamon Zayed's 50th minute strike for Bray, leaving the scoreline at 3-1 going into the final ten minutes.

But Wanderers' never-say-die attitude salvaged a point for them as first John Flood (85 minutes) and then O'Brien (92) brought them back from the brink at Terryland. Galway are still unbeaten in seven games, however, as they stage a late play-off push.
