Curbishley not ruling himself out of Spurs running

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley has refused to rule himself out of the running for the manager's position at Tottenham. Curbishley watched his Charlton side edge past Luton on penalties in the Carling Cup, but would not be drawn on reports claiming he is a target for Spurs.

"What can I do? Tottenham changed their manager but I don't think they have a list of replacements yet. As far as I am concerned I am happy here, just like I was when the West Ham job came up a couple of years ago. I am comfortable with what I am doing here. I have a great relationship with (chairman) Richard Murray and there will be a sign, either from him or the fans, when it is time for me to leave. But I have not seen that yet.", he said.

Charlton survived a night of defensive lapses against Luton to escape 8-7 on penalties after the teams finished at 4-4 after extra time.

"Our defending was dreadful - we have got to defend better than that against Liverpool at the weekend, Their two up front caused all sorts of problems. At the end we had lots of players who could score, but then we could let one in as well. We were always chasing the game, " added Curbishley.
