Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan has met the wife of former Blues midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe to discuss how to help her family following the death of her husband. A benefit game is planned for Lyon, France in November.
The player collapsed and died in June at the age of 28 while playing for his country in the Confederations Cup semi-final.
Keegan has pledged to co-manage a side made up of the best players from Foe's former clubs, City, Lens and Lyon, for a benefit match against Cameroon in memory of Foe. Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Steve Marlet have already agreed to take part in the match, which will be played in Lyon on November 11.
However, Keegan is still hoping City can provide a more personal response to Foe's death and he has invited the player's wife Marie-Louise to England to discuss the best way forward.
'As a club we have to do something and we will. We just need a little bit of time to come up with the right solution to the problems Marc's death has caused', Keegan said.
