Ibrahim Ba to sign for Bolton Wanderers

Former French international Ibrahim Ba is close to signing a three-month deal with struggling English Premiership side Bolton Wanderers, the club announced on Friday.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who spent last season in Italy at AC Milan, has been on trial with the English side for five weeks and scored twice in a midweek friendly. "He is short of match fitness but with a little luck he should be ready for the match against Middlesbrough on September 13," said assistant manager Phil Brown.

Ba signed for AC Milan in 1997 for 12.5 million euros from Bordeaux before going on loan to Marseille in 2001. Bolton, 17th in the Premiership, have a large foreign contingent in their squad which includes French international Yourri Djorkaeff, Nigeria's Jay-Jay Okocha and Brazilian striker Mario Jardel.
