Hoolahan and Thornton out of U-21s

Wes Hoolahan and Sean Thornton have withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad for tomorrow night’s game against their Russian counterparts at the RSC in Waterford. Hoolahan (Shelbourne) has been excused from international duty because he has a club game against Derry City tomorrow night while Thornton (Sunderland) has withdrawn due to knee ligament injury. Under 21 manager Don Givens will announce his starting XI in Waterford this evening.
