The longest running transfer saga this summer has hit another snag. Just when it finally looked like French international Claude Makelele would sign for Chelsea, his agent claims the midfielder's transfer from Real Madrid has hit a new snag, with a dispute between the player and Real over his entitlement to part of the transfer fee.
Both clubs and the player have agreed terms in a £16.6million transfer, but the French international is refusing to complete the move, saying he is owned 15 per cent of the fee.
And with time fast running out until the transfer window closes - the Spanish deadline is midnight today - Makelele's representative Marc Roger fears the deal will not now go through.
