Hernan Crespo is expected to sign for Chelsea after their Champions League qualifier against MSK Zilina tomorrow night.
The Argentinian striker is close to completing a reported £18million move from Inter Milan and the final loose ends are set to be tied up after the match against the Slovakians, with Chelsea leading 2-0 from the first leg and almost certain to book their place in the Champions League group phase.
Meanwhile, Bordeaux have announced the sale of Russian midfielder Alexei Smertin to Chelsea. The French club announced on their website that Smertin would become the latest signing for Chelsea since his compatriot Roman Abramovich took control of the London club in the close season.
