Bohemians' defender Colin Hawkins has been named as the eircom/Soccer Writers Association of Ireland player of the month for July. Hawkins only games during the month came in the Champions League, as a painful Achilles injury forced him to miss a league game against Waterford United and a FAI Cup tie against Dundalk.
But his performances in Europe make him a worthy winner of the prestigious award as he was outstanding, particularly in the home games against BATE Borisov and Rosenborg.
