Bohemians boss Stephen Kenny is confident of over-turning the 1-0 deficit against Rosenborg tomorrow and setting up a mouthwatering Champions league clash against Spanish giants Deportivo La Coruna. Bohs must overturn a 1-0 deficit going into tomorrow's return leg of their second qualifying round tie against Rosenborg if they are to face Deportivo, who finished third in the Primera Liga last season, just six points behind champions Real Madrid.
Despite the defeat at Dalymount Park last Wednesday, Kenny feels the trip to Trondheim's Lerkendal Stadium does not represent mission impossible for his reigning Eircom League champions. However, Bohemians are struggling this season as they are in a lowly eighth and 10 points adrift of current leaders Shelbourne.
Norwegian champions Rosenborg in comparison are on course for a 17th title as they again lead the way having lost just one of their 15 league matches to date to give them a nine-point cushion.
But a defiant Kenny feels his side can inflict upon Rosenborg their first home defeat of the season as he said: "Everybody's looking forward to this game and I can assure people we are going to have a go at trying to overturn the 1-0 deficit.
"I'm confident we can do it because I know we can play a lot better than we did last week and I know we can score. The fact we didn't (in the first leg) was very unusual. We know it's not going to be easy, but if we can get a goal then hopefully the defensive side of things will take care of themselves."
Kenny is likely to name an unchanged side for the game. Defender Bobby Ryan and midfielder Colin Hawkins will undergo late fitness tests on knee and Achilles tendon injuries respectively, although both are expected to play.
