Bray to host Blackburn on Wednesday

Blackburn Rovers take a day at the seaside this week when they play a friendly against eircom League side Bray Wanderers at The Carlisle Grounds on Wednesday. Deprived of the services of Damien Duff, Rovers manager Graeme Souness will be bringing a full-strength squad to the Wicklow venue, including Dwight Yorke, Brad Friedel, Tugay, Andy Cole and Matt Jansen as well as new signings Lorenzo Amoruso and Irish international Stephen Reid.

The home side will include St Vincent international Wesley Charles and Irish internationals Eamon Zayed (U-20) and John Flood (U-19). Former St Pat's and Irish U-21 international Robbie McGuinness, who made his first appearance for The Seagulls in Ballybofey this weekend, will also make his home debut.

Former Irish U-16 international Anthony Martin, who was signed by Bray last week following his release by Blackburn, is also expected to play some part. The game is being held in commemoration of former Bray, Blackburn and Ireland player Andy McEvoy.

The match kicks-off at The Carlisle Grounds at 7.45pm this Wednesday, August 6. Tickets are priced at €15 adults, €5 OAPs/U-16s, and are available from (01) 2828214. Credit Card bookings accepted.
