Davids staying with Juventus

Chelsea transfer target Edgar Davids is to see out the final year of his contract with Juventus and could extend his stay with the Italian champions, according to the Dutch midfielder's agent.

"Edgar is tied to Juventus for another year and he will stay in Turin," Robert Geerlings told Thursday's Gazzetta dello Sport. "There is still no sign of life at Juve, but there is absolutely no problem for us," he said of a delay in being offered an extension of his current contract.

"We are waiting for their eventual offer which we will have to evaluate. There is no rush, everything is fine, as always."

Juventus turned down a bid from big-spending Chelsea for Davids last week. "It's true we have received an offer from Chelsea but we refused it," Juventus' general director Luciano Moggi said. "Davids is staying because he is important for the club's future."

According to media reports Chelsea offered €11 million for the dynamic 30-year-old Holland international.
