Djemba-Djemba signs for United in £3.5 million deal

Cameroon international Eric Djemba-Djemba has joined Manchester United today in a deal worth £3.5 million. Djemba-Djemba is currently in Manchester completing his medical, the last obstacle to his move from French club Nantes.

Djemba-Djemba is due to return to Cameroon to attend the funeral of international team-mate Marc-Vivien Foe who died during last week's Confederations Cup clash with Colombia.

However, hopes of making Ronaldinho Sir Alex Ferguson's third summer signing after the capture of David Bellion on Tuesday are hanging in the balance after Paris St Germain turned down United's initial bid - believed to be in the region of £11million. Old Trafford officials are annoyed with PSG for attempting to conduct business in the public arena but with Graille claiming Real Madrid are willing to pay £25million for their star man, with an £8million down payment promised immediately, Kenyon has seen the price pushed increasingly skywards.
