Gianfranco Zola has ended speculation about his future by announcing he is to leave Stamford Bridge and join Italian Serie B side Cagliari.
The Blues were hoping to persuade the former Italy international to stay for another year but the player has told the club he wants to return home and honour his promise to join Serie B side Cagliari.
Negotiations are now underway to set up a game between the two clubs so Chelsea fans can say farewell to the maestro. The little Italian spent seven years in west London winning two FA Cups & a Cup Winners Cup medal.
