Brazil and AC Milan forward Rivaldo is said to be "close" to signing a deal with United Arab Emirates club Al Ain. The 31-year-old moved to AC Milan last summer from Spanish giants Barcelona but has spent much of the season on the bench and cut a forlorn figure during the Champions League final, which Milan won.
Rivaldo is said to have been attracted by the Emirates club's offer.
The club have reached the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League and are looking to boost their squad ahead of the second leg of their clash with Chinese club Dalian. Al Ain won the first leg 4-2.
Rivaldo does not have a good relationship with Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has publicly stated that he prefers players that fit into his system. Rivaldo apparently does not.
Representatives from the club also travelled to France last week to scout the Confederations Cup for an international striker to join the squad's training camp scheduled to start next month.
The news that Rivaldo is considering a move may move Spurs, who tried to sign the player last season, to make an offer for him.
