Liverpool hope to make Fulham's Steve Finnan their first summer signing in a €5.5 million deal, before turning their attention to Blackburn's Damien Duff. Gerard Houllier is close to completing a deal for Republic of Ireland defender Finnan, who'll play his final game for Fulham at Charlton on Sunday.
Blackburn have admitted in recent weeks that they are virtually resigned to leeting Duff go, which has re-ignited Liverpool's interest in a player they tried to buy last summer. Fulham’s Steed Malbranque is also rumoured to be on his way to Anfield for just over €4 million.
