Delap could miss FA Cup final

Rory Delap is a serious doubt for the FA Cup final after he was carried off during a reserve game. The Republic of Ireland international fell awkwardly during the 2-2 draw with his former club Derby on Tuesday night and seemed to twist his ankle just 28 minutes into the match. He was helped from the field and was immediately brought to the club's medical room for further treatment.

Delap was actually using the reserve match to boost his fitness levels in the hope he would make Southampton's first FA Cup final for 27 years as he has been sidelined for almost two months with a knee injury. It now remains to be seen whether or not he will be fit enough to line out for the Saints against Arsenal at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on May 17.
