Beckham is not for sale says Ferguson

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has told Europe's top clubs that there is no way he is selling David Beckham this summer. The England captain was linked with a host of leading clubs across the continent since a dressing room bust-up with Ferguson after the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford.

However, Ferguson has told The Sun newspaper that Beckham won't be going anywhere. "It is totally out of the question," he said. "There is no way we would sell him - or any of our best players."

But Real Madrid, who were said to be leading the chase for Beckham, have ruled out a move for the midfielder. "As far as we are concerned, Inter have the green light for Beckham because we are not going to enter any auction," Real general director Jorge Valdano told The Sun.
