French international Christophe Dugarry has claimed that he wants to make his move to Birmingham City a permanent one.
Dugarry is at St Andrews on a six-month loan deal from Bordeaux and has settled in well with the club, establishing himself as a firm fan favourite within the space of three months. And as soon as Birmingham's future in the Premiership is certain, Dugarry will sit down with Steve Bruce for contract talks.
The French ace said "I want to stay. I am free at the end of the season. I have a few opportunities but they are not the most important thing. I've found a family here at Birmingham. Everyone is happy and that is the most important thing."
"I've found people who trust me so I want to stay. Because I am free it is normal to have other chances to move on, but if possible I will stay here. I am very happy. The players are very nice, the manager is very good and the training sessions are good too," he added.
"I won't speak with Steve Bruce for the moment because we don't know if we are safe or not, but if we stay in the Premiership then I will talk with him. I need to be strong and continue to work hard. In nine games I've had a lot of opportunities. I think I've done well."
