Cork City are closing in on Watford striker Dominic Foley as they step up their preparations for the new eircom League season which gets under way next month.
Foley, who was born in Charleville, Co Cork, is believed to be favouring a move home after being told his contract will not be renewed by the Vicarage Road club at the end of the season.
Foley has a number of international caps, having made his debut for the Republic under Mick McCarthy against Scotland three years ago.
Eircom league champions Bohemians are also believed to be interested in signing the 26-year-old, who will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.
