Dolan favourite for Cork hot-seat

Pat Dolan has now emerged as the clear favourite to succeed Liam Murphy as manager of Cork City City, after chairman Brian Lennox today ruled Damien Richardson and Don O'Riordan out of the running for the job.

Lennox says he will make an announcement on the new manager at lunchtime on Friday and with Dolan reportedly in Cork for talks with the club last weekend, he now looks the odds-on favourite.

It was expected that Dolan would tender his resignation at a meeting of the St Pat's board last night but didn't after considering a proposed offer of a €500,000 cash injection for the Richmond Park club from builder Mick Wallace.
