Scotland manager Berti Vogts has named his squad for the upcoming friendly against the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday week. The squad includes two uncapped players - Celtic's Jamie Smith and Rangers' Bob Malcolm.
Vogts revealed that Celtic's UEFA Cup run was what propelled Smith into the national squad ahead of schedule but it is not yet known if he will throw him in at the deep end against Brian Kerr's Irish side at Hampden Park.
Meanwhile, Wolves pair Colin Cameron and Kenny Miller return to the squad while West Ham's Don Hutchison also makes his international comeback after suffering a serious knee injury a year ago. Rangers winger Neil McCann returns after missing internationals through injury, but Leeds defender Dominic Matteo will be forced to pull out if he cannot recover from a knee injury.
