Liverpool's Steven Gerrard has been banned for three matches after being found guilty of violent conduct by the English FA today. A hearing at Bolton's Reebok Stadium penalised the England midfielder for the lunge on Everton's Gary Naysmith in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on December 22.
Gerrard's suspension starts with immediate effect, although he was not fined for the challenge. He will miss Wednesday's FA Cup fourth round replay with Crystal Palace and Saturday's home FA Premiership clash with Middlesbrough, as well as the trip to Birmingham on February 23.
