Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is adamant that Portuguese defender Abel Xavier will not be allowed leave Anfield on a loan deal. Turkish club Galatasaray have made inquiries about the player but Liverpool are only prepared to let him go on a permanent deal worth at least £1million.
"A few agents have been in touch with me but I won't let him go out on loan. No way. If he wants to go, he goes but it has to be a transfer. I can understand his situation because he isn't getting regular football at the moment," explained Houllier.
