Bolton Wanderers today accepted a transfer request from 24-year-old striker Michael Ricketts. The striker has been the subject of much speculation since the transfer window re-opened on New Year's Day, with Tottenham known to have expressed an interest.
A statement on the club's website, said: "We are very disappointed that Michael has decided to take this course of action, particularly after all the hard work we have invested in him since his arrival from Walsall. However, if a player is adamant in his desire to leave the club, then providing we get an offer that reflects his true value, we will not stand in his way."
