Glenn Roeder reckons Lee Bowyer is set to prosper at West Ham and that he will form a deadly partnership with fans favourite Paulo Di Canio. The West Ham boss also speculated that Bowyer might earn an England recall. West Ham play Arsenal at Highbury tomorrow and Roeder was singing the praises of his latest signing ahead of the vital clash.
Bowyer made his debut in last Saturday's draw at home to Newcastle and Roeder is expecting great things from him, particularly once the Italian, currently recovering from injury, makes his comeback. "Once we get di Canio back in the team and Lee is fully fit, I think di Canio will combine well with Bowyer. I think di Canio will get his head up and he will see Bowyer's runs and I just think that the ball will arrive at his feet, and he'll get opportunities to score. I'm really looking forward to seeing di Canio and Bowyer work together on the field," he said.
Roeder has already been impressed by Bowyer's work ethic in training training and the quality of his play on the field and is confident that Bowyer can break into the England side and add to his one cap.
"There's no doubt about it with Lee Bowyer. I have seen the quality this week and he's certainly got more than enough quality to represent England - and I am sure that he is going to. It's a shame that people don't pick up on his other qualities other than the aggressive side of his play," said Roeder.
Roeder also revealed that Italian ace Di Canio will be back in training on Monday and that he will be available to play by the end of the month.
