Chelsea defender Graeme Le Saux has lashed out at England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, demanding an explanation as to why he's been left out of his squads for the last two years. Le Saux's last game for his national side was Kevin Keegan's final game in charge, the 1-0 defeat to Germany in a World Cup qualifier at Wembley in October 2000.
The 34-year-old was surprisingly overlooked by Eriksson ahead of last summer's World Cup when the Swede was struggling to fill an obvious void on the left side of his team and Le Saux is unhappy that he was never offered a reason for this.
"I deserve better than that. I've played 36 times for my country and have always been committed to the cause," he told the Daily Express newspaper. "In his (Eriksson's) eyes I don't even merit an explanation. It's annoying that I should have had a chance last year when I was playing as well as I've ever done, and still didn't get to find out why I was nevergiven another chance."
"To find out is one of the most important things in my life. I know he's been directly asked and not answered the question," added the full-back.
