Liverpool legend Ian Rush has joined Gerard Houllier's coaching staff to work with the club's strikers on a part-time basis. Former Wales international Rush, who scored a record 346 goals in two spells at Anfield, will provide specific coaching for forwards once or twice a week at the club's Melwood training base.
Rush won five championship medals with Liverpool either side of a disappointing one-year spell at Italian giants Juventus. He also won one European Cup and scored three times in winning FA Cup finals.
He left the club in 1996 to play out his career with Leeds, Newcastle and Wrexham.
