Hammers latest to express interest in Bowyer

Bottom-of-the-Premiership West Ham have emerged as the latest club to express an interest in acquiring the services of Leeds player Lee Bowyer.

Earlier in the week, loan move negotiations between Bowyer and Birmingham broke down, however, now the Hammers have confirmed they could try and sign the out-of-favour midfielder, whose contract expires in the summer.

West Ham's managing director Paul Aldridge said: "There have been no conversations with Leeds yet, and our priority is to sign a forward. But that's not to say that we aren't interested in signing a quality player like Lee."
