Olympique Marseille midfielder Djamel Belmadi is joining Manchester City on loan until the end of the season, Marseille coach Alain Perrin said today. The Algerian international, who passed a fitness test at City recently, convinced manager Kevin Keegan that his pairing with French striker Nicolas Anelka could prove efficient, Perrin said on Marseille's website.
The 26-year-old Belmadi has played for Paris St Germain, Martigues, Cannes and Celta Vigo before joining Marseille in 1999.
