Everton complete McBride and Said deals

Everton have made their first foray of the year into the transfer market, after agreeing loan deals to bring United States international striker Brian McBride and Egyptian defender Ibrahim Said to Goodison Park.

The duo will both link up with the Toffees as soon as their work permits are cleared.

McBride, who was part of the US side that made it the quarter-finals of the World Cup, has already played under David Moyes when he enjoyed a loan spell with Preston in 2001. Should Everton not choose to sign the striker permanently, he will spend three months at Goodison before returning to Columbus Crew for the start of the MLS season.

Meanwhile Said, who plays for Al Ahly, who spent two weeks with the Toffees during the summer and accompanied the club on their pre-season tour of Scotland.
