Sheffield United are now in third place after a 1-0 win over Walsall. The Sheffield outfit leapfrogged Nottingham Forest and Norwich who lost to Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton consecutively.
Elsewhere, Rotherham beat Preston 2-0; Coventry beat Reading 2-0; Millwall drew 2-2 with Gillingham; Bradford overcame Stoke City 4-2; Burnley beat Wolves 2-1 and Grimsby beat Derby County 3-1.
