Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger if confident that Sol Campbell will be able to contend with the hostile reception he is almost certain to be given when the Gunners take on Tottenham at White Hart Lane tomorrow.
Campbell made to move from Spurs to Arsenal on a Bosman transfer in the summer of 2001 and Sunday's London derby will be only the second time he has played at White Hart Lane in the red of Arsenal. However, Wenger is not overly worried about the treatment of Campbell after he came through last season's derby with his head held high.
"Sol showed last year how well he can cope with the situation. If I had a little question mark in my mind last year before the game as to how he would handle the pressure, I have none at the moment. Our games at White Hart Lane have always been very committed and passionate, so we expect a similar atmosphere," the Frenchman insisted.
"It will be different at White Hart Lane than Highbury but it can't be worsefor Sol than last year. I think Sol was proud to have handled it well and you can understand that. I think it was the making of him as an Arsenal player," Wenger added.
Despite his confidence in Campbell, Wenger will be concerned over the absence of midfielder Patrick Vieira who will miss the game with a groin injury. Elsewhere, Martin Keown may partner Capbell in the heart of the Arsenal defence at the expense of Pascal Cygan.
