Seaman may return, but Vieira is doubtful

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may be able to recall goalkeeper David Seaman for tomorrow's second phase Champions League Group B match at home to Valencia, however, Patrick Vieira is rated doubtful.

Seaman has recovered from a groin injury, but Wenger could be hit by the damaging withdrawal of captain Vieira, who pulled up in training today with a thigh strain and is rated as only 40-60 to play.

The Frenchman, who today claimed he would consult Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier on how best to play against the Spanish champions, has Ray Parlour and Edu on standby.

Valencia outclassed Liverpool in the opening group stage this time around and Wenger revealed: "I will call Gerard today but I have seen their games. From what I've seen on the tape, Valencia defended quickly and very high up when they lost the ball."
